Shuswap Lake 2010 International Writers Festival

The Shuswap Association of Writers is proud to present the 2010 Shuswap Lake International Writers Festival. Festival dates are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 28, 29 & 30, 2010 at the beautiful Prestige Harbourfront Resort & Convention Centre on Shuswap Lake.

Some events will also take place at the Salmon Arm campus of Okanagan College and the Salmon Arm Art Gallery.   

The 2010 Shuswap Lake Writers Festival promises an exciting weekend of writing, readings, and inspiring connections! Many different genres will be offered. Enjoy workshops, readings, networking and more!  See the program...

Our theme this year is “Renewal”. Renew yourself and your writing on Shuswap Lake in the spring!

Upon Arrival
When you arrive at the Festival please go the Registration Desk at the hotel’s main entrance and pick up your name tag and Festival folder.

Opening sessions
We will begin each day with a speaker, announcements and the introduction of the speakers for that day.

Workshops
All workshops are on a first come basis. All workshops last 1hour 15 mins.

Blue Pencil Café
Speakers will be available for 15 minute one on one appointments during Saturday. This is a great opportunity to have ask your questions in a relaxed atmosphere. Bring 2 copies of a maximum of 4 pages from your novel, short story, non fiction or poem. Please make sure it is double spaced and easy to read. These appointments are included in your registration fee. REMEMBER TO BOOK EARLY to get who you would like to have. The time slots go quickly. You will be asked to list 3 choices in order of preference on the registration form.

The Book Fair
The book table will have copies of the presenters’ books available for sale. Why not meet the author and have your copy signed during the Festival?
