Shuswap Writers' Festival Overview

Introduction
The Shuswap Writers’ Festival runs from Friday evening May 27 through to Sunday May 29th 2011. It is a Festival designed for both readers and writers. Sessions will include both skill development workshops and open forums with authors based on questions and answers in an  intimate setting.

The Shuswap Writers’ Group will host a Coffee House at the Salmon Arm Art Gallery (SAGA) 7:00pm on Friday evening, where you will be entertained and meet the presenters while you indulge in coffee and treats in a relaxed social atmosphere.

Saturday will be a full day of sessions with the presenters at the Prestige Inn followed by an evening of story telling, music, food and beverages at Okanagan College, starting at 7:30pm.

Sunday will also be at the College where there will be breakfast and speakers starting at 9:00am; followed by sessions which will conclude at approximately 1:30pm.

NEW FOR 2011 – Shuswap Writers’ Festival Bursary

A limited number of bursaries are available to help students and others with lower incomes who would otherwise be unable to attend the festival. Deadline for bursary applications is April 29, 2011 (received either by email or post by this date). The Prestige Harbourfront Resort and Convention Centre is  offering  a Conference Rate to Festival attendees. Please refer to the Shuswap Writers' Festival and ask for the conference rate when making reservations.

BOOK FAIR
The Book Fair will be hosted by Bookingham Palace, an independent Salmon Arm bookstore.

The tables will have copies of the presenters’ books available for sale. Come and meet the author and have your copy signed during the book signing session at the end of the day on Saturday.

The cost to rent a table is $35. You may also like to share the cost a table with someone you know. Please let Mary know your details and she will ensure there is a table for you. Payment by cheque, payable to The Shuswap Association of Writers.
